Hi,
I created a transaction in general journal relating to project under GL>>Journals>>General Journal.
I selected Ledger and Project as account type and enter activity code and category.
I enter credit value for Project account type.
When i check the budget in Project accounting, the remaining budget remain the same.
I'm expecting that the transaction that I created in general journal will be added to the project budget since it is negative.
Is negative transaction update the budget in project accounting?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Hello marypeace,
Do you need any other help/information in regards to this issue?
Best regards,

Good morning marypeace,
Is there anything else we can help you with in regards to this question?

Many thanks and best regards,

Hi marypeace,
If you work with the project budget functionality then you have to create a budget revision, send it through the workflow and get it approved.
That's the standard process for project budget changes.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi Ludwig,
So the expense negative transaction in general journal will not really add to my budget?
What will I do to increase my budget due to a reversal in expense transaction that I did in general journal?
Any workaround?
Thanks.
Hi marypeace,
You must have posted a project expense transaction in your GL journal, right?
Why would you expect the project budget to increase automatically?
Project budget changes must go through a workflow process.
In my machine there is actually also a warning coming that the amount beyond the total budget will not be added to the remaining budget.
Guess you expect here a bit more compared to what AX can do :-)
Best regards,
Ludwig
