Hi All,

User has a business scenario where they need to create negative quantity in Sales quotation.

Users uses negative lines on sales quotations to show customer credits. This feature was available in AX 4.0 but its no longer available in D365FO. I am trying to understand why this was removed when it was a valuable feature and

also how to should credits be shown on sales quotes?

Repro steps:
1. Sales and marketing > Sales quotations > All quotations
2. Create new sales quote
3. Add line
4. Update quantity to -1
5. Error message is generated stating "Quantity may not be negative"

Hi,

Can you describe this business scenario?

Why is it that you want to add negative quantities, i.e. basically return something from a customer and make a quotation for that?

Isn't that rather related to a purchase related scenario?

Hi,

I discovered if you use Add line option, you cannot put negative quantity but if you use Add lines option in Sales quotation line then you can add negative quantities.

process wise would make more better option to use alternate transactions to show credit to customer

I tried this, and find it affective. But I still can't understand how can this be? why we can add negative Qty in SO Quotation line by add lines instead of add line ? Do you know why?

Hi Tina,

I think that only MS knows. You can make a product suggestion to overcome this issue. Simply open the ideas button on top of this site and create a new one to let MS know that this issue should be fixed.
