get selected tree nodes in D365. FormTreeControl methods deprecated in D365?

Hello all,

Does anyone know if there is a list of method for FormTreeControl Object that are deprecated in D365 F&O?  Specifically I am trying to use getNextSelected(idx).  Funny that the getSelectedCount() and getFirstSelected() both seem to still work however getnextSelected() does not.  I know that images and drag and drop are no longer supported.  It would be helpful to have a list.

Sorry if I'm really asking 2 questions in 1 post.

1.  How to get the selected nodes of the tree control

2.  What methods are not longer valid even though they do compile.

Regards,

Don Shields

    Hi Don,

I checked the List of deprecated methods and metadata elements, the getnextSelected() method is not among them, and the existing code can also be found through metadata search.

    And FormTreeControl class.

There is reason to believe that it has not been deprecated for the time being.

Besides that, have you tried to use getSelection() for your purpose?

Thanks for the useful information.  I have not been able to get the getNextSelected() to work.  getSelection() does work but only returns one of the selected items when multi-selected is enabled on the formtreecontrol.  I need to get the indexes of all selected nodes so that I can process some business logic based on the data element of these nodes.

    Hi Doninep,

    Have you read this Doc:docs.microsoft.com/.../check-box-tree-controls

You can judge the current state of the node.

Yes I did see that but I was looking for a solution without using check boxes.  I ended up writing a workaround where when a tree node is selected I check to see if the selected count > 1.  Each time I add the index of the current selected node to a container and then loop through those nodes to see if the selectedstate is true.  if not I remove them from the container.  This seems to work pretty well and wasn't too much more coding than the getNextSelected would have been.

    Thank you for you input,

    Don
