Added a required field to the Opportunity form, now any time you open an opp that's Closed Lost it complains you are missing fields, even though you can't edit it since it's locked. How do I turn this off or disable this annoying feature?

Basically the subject.  Any time we open an older opportunity it complains we are missing required fields since they weren't required when they were made.  I tried doing mass edit but it fails saying it can't be run and says you cannot edit an opportunity once closed.  This is seriously such a stupid feature, why would it constantly pop up saying you are missing data when the opp is already CLOSED?

    Hi,

    I would say it's more of a bug than a feature. Otherwise, I don't reproduce this on my environment. Could you please share some screenshots?

    Hi psychobunny83,

    I couldn't reproduce this error. I created a required field and add it on the form. When I open the lost opportunity, I didn't get the error as yours.

    As Mehdi El Amri said, it's more like a bug. If you still get this error, it's recommend to raise a ticket.

    Hi,

    Write Business Rule to make it optional when Opportunity status is closed/cancelled.
