do "duplicate" lookup relationships insist on identical mappings?

The D365 guys have come up with this Global Address Book situation:

Contact2CfP.PNG

Notice the top 2 show lookups to contact.  I don't know what the functional difference is supposed to be -- not sure MS does -- but I am unable to trim one from the mapping.  For my purposes I would like only the top one to fill in on the form when I hit the New CfC/V button.

But I can't drop the second one.  Is this because every lookup relationship mapping MUST include ALL like lookups?  Is this regular, normal behavior?

I have the same question (0)

Hi, from what I know, this one is because you enabled dual-write mapping:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../mapping-reference

    docs.microsoft.com/.../enable-entity-map

This is the feature that is being enabled because you want to sync the data from CRM to Fin-ops. So I don't think that disabled it will be aligned with the purpose in the first place.

that was my suspicion.  wanted to make sure dual write deserved the blame.

but you are looking at Dual Write mapping documentation.  I'm asking about the Dataverse relationship mapping.  Is it Dataverse/CDS/CE/CRM that won't let me delete this single mapping OR a hook introduced by DW that denies me?

I searched these links for the word "relationship" and couldn't find it so, I didn't find where it is documented that a DW mapping locks a Dataverse relationship mapping.
