Intercompany Master Planning

Hi

Im trying to setup IC Masterppanning for a client. Masterplanning needs to run in Company 1 ( and create its demand there) and then run in Company 2 and get requirements from company 1.  If i set up an intercompany planning group and specify the sequence it needs run in( so run in Company 1 and then Company 2) this tells the system to take the requirements calculated in company 1 into consideration when running in company 2 correct?

Is it still then required on the masterplan to set the Include Planned Downstream Demand on the masterplan? and set that to be my company 1? Or by creating the Intercompnay planning group is that already telling the system to include the demand from Company 1?

    Hello,

According to Planning optimization documentation (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/master-planning/planning-optimization/intercompany-planning) it appears that setting up Include Planned Downstream Demand is required.

For legacy MRP engine, I run a test and it is also required to set Include Planned Downstream Demand accordingly.

    Hope this will help.

    Best regards,

    Gabriel

    Hi,

Indeed, you need to set Include planned downstream demand flag only on Company 2.

Here is a short test case that can be don on any Contoso environment:

    1. Setup an Intercompany planning group 40 as below:

    2. On plan 10 under company DEMF, set Include planned downstream demand flag to value No.

    3. On plan StaticPlan under company USMF, set Include planned downstream demand flag to value Yes and add downstream plan 10 from company DEMF.

    4. Run Intercompany planning for intercompany group 40 with 1 iteration and Regeneration method.

    5.  Check the Planned intercompany demand entries coming from DEMF company generated for item D0001 under StaticPlan on USMF company.

    Hi,

I have a similar requirement. Please find the details below:

    1. Company 1 ( Sales company)

    2. Company 2 ( Shared Service company) - Has the inventory and master plan is run here.

The process if for Demand forecast to be generated in Company 1. This demand needs to be fed to Company 2 which needs to create Planned orders accordingly.

I followed the same setup, but the planned orders keep getting created in Company 1 instead of 2. I am not sure where I am going wrong.

PS: I am a technical person, not completely thorough with the functional aspects. Please help.

    Regards,

    Shruthi
