Hi,

After clicking on inventory management>items, i choose and item and go to 'transactions'. AX gives a list of transactions and i want to know some of the details.

Eg reference - 'production line'

number - '00321139_74'.

issue - 'deducted'

Is there a guide on how to trace the transaction?

thanks.

regards,

    Hi Ahmad,

You can use your partner source account to download the whitepaper on understanding Inventory transactions statuses in AX2012  from the below link:

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../Inventory%20Transaction%20Statuses%20White%20paper

    Hope this helps.

    Hello Ahmad,

The only way I know of in 4.0 is going to the module where the transaction originated. So in your example go to the production module,  filter on the productionorder 00321139_74 and check out the journal there.

    Thanks Rachit.

I don't have a log in. Will check on the login details.

    Thanks Carla for the reply.

Problem is that some of it is not journal. I know that some of the entry is from BOM/Manufacturing.

However, will test some of the reference from what you suggested to at least understand the transaction.

When you see the inventory transaction, you can trace it back by using the trace function in the inventory button. Does that help? If you want more details as to the transaction itself you need to right click the transaction number and go to master table.
