Workflow Escalation setup

Hi Experts,

I have one requirement to setup workflow escalation and I am exploring the possibilities we can use here.

I simply created one GL journal daily workflow and assigned the workflow to the journal name.

Currently I am using group 'participant' based assignment and group based.

I want to use the escalation for say 1 hour, and if the 1 hour is passed with no action taken from the group of people, it must route to one particular user.

hence I have used in escalation "Assignment type"= user and added the user into the selected field.

I have given time limit of 1 hour with calendar name Non-calendar.

It is not routing to the user even if 1 hour is passed.

What am I missing here?

    Hi Muahmmad,

Can you create a new question on the forum? Your question is different from the original question. Then please also provide information if the batch job has actual batch tasks and if other batch jobs are running correctly in the same environment.

    Thanks Andre, for the help.

If I am not mistaken, then I have to add time limit in the assignment as well and then setup the time limit in escalation.

    Alright, I am testing this.

Can I kindly ask one thing here?

What does this mean by 'approve and reject' in the escalation? cant I keep that blank and let the escalated person to take the decision if he/she wants to approve/reject?

    Hi Ramit,

I'm not sure how you did setup the escalation. You can have a look at a blog how to setup the escalation path: dynamicsaxtipoftheday.com/.../

In addition, the escalation is managed via a workflow due date processing batch job. Check the recurrence pattern if this job runs in time. It might be the case that it is setup to run e.g. each 30 or 60 minutes.
