Import/Export of Journal to Excel fails

Hi guys

I'm having an issue when I export from D365 F&O the GL journal to excel for importing purposes. the account dimension display tab does not reflect. We have to then add a column called accountdisplayvalue to reflect the company's financial dimensions. Once done, this mapping does not return the correct information. THis was not a problem prior to adding an additional dimension field lookup in the financials dimensions to a company consolidation.

i go into excel set the data connector and log in.

i select the Account display value, add, refresh and the filed is then populated into my excel. However, the dimension is missing the department and cost center dimensions. It only populates the main account, and nothing else, do I need to do something else to get the correct data, or is something wrong in my setup?

Hi Ramon,

What exactly do you mean with 'adding an additional dimension field lookup'? Can you also clarify what you mean with 'does not return the correct information'? What information is currently returned and what is expected?

Hi Andre

apologies for not returning your email, it was a public holiday this side. OK so the issue we are having is connected to when we try to do bulk, the fields only return the Chart of account, chart Accc number, but excludes the cost center dimension field and company cost center. Up to Feb the export to excel and update of the batches allowed for all the data to be returned in the cell, meaning we get 100010--D5-001, currently when we do the link and lookup, it only returns 100010-, so when I try to re-import into D365 it fails with an error

Hi Ludwig, everything seems to be working fine till around the end of March. The only change we did was we added a new dimension. I added a company dimension to the existing financial dimension to cater to the company requirement in reporting. However, since we added this dimension our export to excel field seems to be missing the additional dimensions, it only seems to return the single segment
