Invoice Capture capacity

(3) ShareShare

We are looking to begin using Dynamics 365 F&O Invoice Capture application to process incoming Payables and wanted to from anyone that is currently using it how it is working for them? Are there any capacity issues? We process approximately 9,000 invoices per month. Also, how difficult was the implementation and how long did it take?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

9,000 invoices per month is well within D365 Invoice Capture’s capacity, provided you have sufficient AI Builder credits. The system can handle much higher volumes; your main consideration is purchasing enough credits to cover the monthly load.

    Suggestion:
Start with your top 10–15 vendors by invoice volume to train the AI model quickly, then expand.

If you find this suggestion helpful, please consider verifying the answer. 👍

Your 9,000 invoices per month is no issue, capacity-wise.  As others have stated below, you'll pay $300/1,000 invoices monthly to Microsoft.  Expect in the neighborhood of 80-100 consulting hours to do an out-of-the-box, simple implementation. This includes functional and technical configuration, training, testing, and deployment to sandbox and production environments.

The Dynamics 365 F&O Invoice Capture application has been
well-received by many organizations for automating accounts payable
processes, including invoice capture, validation, and posting. Users
report that it significantly reduces manual data entry and improves
accuracy, though some note that initial setup and template training
require careful attention to ensure optimal performance. For a volume of
9,000 invoices per month, the application should handle the load
efficiently, but it’s advisable to monitor system performance and
consider scaling resources if bottlenecks arise. Implementation
typically takes 4–8 weeks, depending on complexity, integration
requirements, and the need for customizations. While the out-of-the-box
solution is relatively straightforward, fine-tuning the AI model for
unique invoice formats and ensuring seamless integration with existing
workflows can extend the timeline. Overall, businesses find it a
valuable tool, but success depends on proper configuration and ongoing
    optimization.
