Formatting email from a queue

The editor for direct emails persistently fails to maintain formatting. Format must be adjusted multiple times manually in order to "stick". This becomes a problem in flows where a welcome email is triggered on Nomination creation. Since the email is sent automatically, we can't fix the format. Is there work being done on the mail editor?
