I am in the process of deleting items out of our system that were set up but never used. I know I can delete them if they do not have any history.
I plan on running a macro to delete these. (there are hundreds of them)
My question is if there is a smartlist or other report that I can run to show me what items do not have any history.
I have tried creating a smartlist using the Inventory Sales Summary History and the Inventory Sales Summary Period History but it does not seem to work.
Any other ideas?
Katie, one of the reasons you might not be getting the results from the two SmartLists is that until you 'sell' something the item will not appear in either of these two views of the data.
What you could look for is an Inventory Item list, show Quantity on Hand at Zero. Look for a Quantity Purchased of Zero. Look for a transaction date less than some period of time before when you were using the system.
If you have access to SQL Server Management Studio, then you might find it faster to work on a SQL Script where the QTY or Purchase History for an item are either ZERO or where a date null - often represented by 1900-01-01
I know this is not a solution - but hope it helps you in some direction to reach a satisfactory conclusion to your issue.
