Problem Reporting Production Order as Finished

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I have a strange problem, we have certain users that get the "Total good quantity reported as finished for the production will be 1.00. Feedback for the last operation is 0.00 in total" and it cancels the update. I've googled and looked around, but can't find the reason for this.

The strange thing is that three users have tried this and it works for one user, one of the other users has the same security as the user that works, and the final user that fails is a system admin, so it isn't a security issue, it looks user specific. However, I have looked round Production Control setup and can't find anything the requires user level setup.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Nick

    There's a description here:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../report-production-orders-as-finished

Essentially, AX will make some checks when you post a Report as Finished. If these checks fail, the posting of the Report as Finished will be blocked. Using 'Accept error' indicates that you would like AX to skip some of these checks. I think there are three scenarios where it has an effect. If you have an unposted Picking list journal, that would normally cause an error, which you can skip. It can overcome a similar problem with a Route card journal, if you are using Routes. If you try to Report as Finished a quantity that is greater than the quantity that was Started on the production order, that would normally cause an error, which you can skip.

What will do the accept error check box?

The control you see is based on that you have not reported finished on one of your previous operations. If you go into Production Control and "Current Operations" and finish the previous operations you won't get this error.

The dialogue for reporting as finished has a bunch of parameters in it. This setup is stored pr. user and saved every time you click OK.

The reason one could post without the error and someone else can not is that the person that can post is has ticked "accept errors".

    Guy,

Thanks for the link, unfortunately we don't process works order this way and it still doesn't explain why one user can process the WO as Report as Finished, and two other users (myself included who is a system admin) cannot.

    Regards

    Nick
