Dynamics GP : Can we turn on CDC on GP SQL Server tables ?

Hello GP world,

We are currently using GP 18.5 . We have a business requirement which can be executed efficiently if we can turn on CDC on 5 of heavily used GP subledger tables (AP and AR). We discussed this with our DBA but we are not sure what would be impact if we turn on CDC on GP tables. Anyone turned on CDC ? If yes can you please share your comments/concerns or points to noted.

I haven't turned on CDC for a GP database but do have many instances where triggers on specific tables (to track changes) are in place.

Other than the small performance hit and the additional disk space, the process works well but testing (and a recovery plan!) would be important. In addition to testing for basic processing, I would include some heaving testing of posting and other actions that move records from tables (for example moving AP transactions from open to history during check posting) to confirm there aren't issues with locks.

Thank you Lisa for your response. We already have lots of triggers in place but now we are trying to use it even more so planning to turn on CDC but thanks again for your comments.
