COGS in trial balance is not matching with the details in sales

Dear Experts,

the amount of COGS in trial balance is not matching with the details in sales reports .Finance-error-in-report.png

The revenue amount is correct but if we calculate the cost of product will be : SAR 101,861,938.16

    Hi,

    Have you run an inventory recalculation before or after creating one of the reports?

    If you have not, can you try doing that and see if this makes a difference?

    In addition, do you have a problem with your inventory values?

    That is, if you run the inventory value report, does this inventory value report match your inventory values in GL?

    I would expect that it does not.

    If my assumption is correct, please check if somebody posted some transactions manually in GL on the inventory accounts and/or you COGS accounts.

    Dear Ludwig Reinhard ,

    First of all, we implement Dynamics ax 2012 R3  almost 17 months before, but we didn't close inventory periods from inventory module(Periodic Menu, Closing and Adjustment).Will it effect on the prices sir??

    Hello Shabir Ahmad,

    Closing the inventory will affect your cost prices if you use a current costing method such as FIFO, LIFO, weighted average, etc.

    Before closing the inventory in your Livesystem do a testrun in a demo environment.

    I say this because you have not closed it for 17 months and as a result, the closing process might run very long - a couple of hours or more - depending on the number of transactions recorded.
