NAV 2017 - Calculate Depreciation

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

When I go to calculate and record depreciation expense for a period, after selecting OK I receive a message saying no journal lines have been created. When I look at the Fixed Asset Card, I have set up the depreciation book as it should and the asset was in service for the period I am trying to calculate depreciation for. Is there a piece of the setup that I am missing that is causing it to not prepare the journal entry?

Please check the FA Journal setup whether FA Template and Batches are defined or not.

I am having the same issue. I believe my Template and Batch is setup correctly.

Look at the "Ledger Entries" on the Fixed Asset itself. Make sure you didn't run a depreciation for the same period. If that's fine, check the Depreciation Book. In the "Navigate" tab, make sure your userid has a batch setup for the journals.

We definitely don't already have entries for this period.  In fact, we've just re-implemented Navision from a much older version - so FA and entries were (properly) copied in.

I just think there much be some setup missing....    Like you said, I've checked for template and batch (and no. series, FA posting group, etc) and cannot find anything missing.

    Any other ideas?

Check all the parameters on the FA Depreciation book: depreciation starting date, method, %, etc.

Check also your fa ledger entries. Depreciation date should be after last acquisition date.

OK Check the FA Journal and the FA GL Journals just to make sure the batches weren't already created and just need to be posted.

Check this link for setup information:
