Good afternoon everyone,

I use the Subject Tree in CRM for Occurrence and other system tables.

I need to remove some subjects, would you let me know if this practice is recommended?

If I can not hide or disable the Subjects?

Thank you

    Hi,

You can remove subjects from subject tree unless it is not used in any other entity.

If subject it used in any record then first you need to remove that reference, otherwise you will get error "The record cannot be deleted because of an association".

To remove subject from subject tree, you need to go to settings --> Business Management --> Subjects

then select subject you want to remove and click on Remove selected Subject button.

If you have sql server access you can update the FeatureMask column to zero  in the SubjectBase table to hide Subjects while maintaining relationships on existing records.

    Hi,

I am having an issue removing a subject from the subject tree. The error message I am getting is "The record could not be deleted because of an association". I have checked all the data under Cases and products to see if subject is being used. There are no other dependencies that I can see. Is there anyway I can check exactly what that association is?

Should mention that the subject I am having the error with used to be parent to two other subjects which I removed previously.

    Thanks,

Hey Gavibe, I don't know whether you resolved this issue, however, if you download the log file you would be able to check what those dependencies are.
