User specific integration INI file in a Multi Server Citrix Environment

Posted on by 5

I would like to be able to launch Integration Manager from within GP Dynamics, and have the user use a specific IM.ini file  How do you make that happen in the Dex.ini file?

    Hi,

This is an interesting setup.. are you saying that your GP and IM are available to multiple customers from within the same Citrix Server ??

That sounds a little weird and risky to me..  Why did the hosting partner not setup a dedicated Citrix environment by Customer ?

I'm not aware of a way to 'force' GP to call IM with a specific .ini file to start with..

I am on a shared Citrix environment.  That is using a Common IM.ini file.  The registration keys are not my registration keys.  I want it to launch using my registration keys.  How do I get it to point to my custom INI file.  I can get it to work as a stand alone application,  but not when launching it from inside GP.

When you install Integration Manager, it should add it to the Dynamics.set file used to launch Dynamics GP.

Then, under 'Microsoft Dynamics GP' menu, if you click on Tools > Integrate, you'll see options for 'Integration Manager' which will launch the actual IM application, or 'Run Integration' which allows you to run an integration from within Dynamics GP.

If you don't have Integration Manager in the Dynamics.set file, those options may be available, but will be disabled to the users, including 'sa'.

I believe you also need to have 'Customization Site Enabler' marked as active, in the Registration window for Dynamics GP, for these options to be available.

There's nothing we need to add or change in the Dex.ini for this.

    Thanks
