Solution failed to import - SourceType 1, but 0 was specified

Posted on by
When I import a solution I get an error message saying that for one of the fields the /SourceType 1, but 0 was specified/, I know which column (field) is the issue. I have tried to remove from the solution, delete from the environment and create as a new column - with the matching label and values as the originating solution.
The columns match down to the data type etc. So what is the solution and why won't it import?
I published all customisations at the point of export.

    Hello

you need to check with the field this is connected, because once you want to change some data type you need to do a process before it

1-Remove the field from the Dev (your first env,)
    2-Publish all
3-Export this solution to your PreProd/UAT (your second env.)
4-Check if the field was removed
5-Move the same solution (without the field to Prod)
6-Create the new field with the new data type in Dev, publish again and export the new solution to the other env.

It's a pain, but once you created the field you can't just change the data type and upgrade to the other environment, first you always need to remove it
