Workflow triggered 3 times

Hi,

Hope you are keeping safe.

I have a weird issue and unable to figure out even after trying a few options.

I have a simple workflow to trigger an email based on the conditions which will be true only once and hence one email, however for some reason this workflow is sending out three emails.

I am checking both fields Entity status and Payment value under the "Records fields change"

    Hi,

Can you confirm if this is happening only on Update not on Create?

Please check Audit history to see how many times Payment value and Entity Status is getting changed.

To narrow down the issue, remove one field at a time from Record field change trigger and see which field is causing this issue. I meant first remove Entity Status and keep only Payment Value. Now updated Payment Value from Form and see how many emails sent. Do the same process for Entity Status as well.

Please mark my answer verified if i were helpful

    Hi Bipin,

    Thanks for your reply.

Sorry in advance for a long reply.

We do not have auditing enabled and also i do not have any other environment configured to test the payment scenario making it all so difficult for me to see what is happening.

But as i know the process how this payment record is created: user puts in the Payment Value which they know certainly and even if they miss type and re-type the amount, payment is not created since it remains in unsaved form and only when user finishes and saves the record payment gets created.

Once the payment is created there is another workflow that changes the status to Pending approval when value is greater than or equal to 50K (done by third party, so cant make changes to it)

Now we decided that users should be notified when an approval is required hence this workflow, but for some reasons it never worked properly sometimes there wont be any emails sent out and other times it will work just fine but recently, it started triggering emails three times.

Based on your comments i tried removing Entity status and Payments value and it triggered 1 email in 1st instance but 2nd time no email was sent to the user, even though it met the condition.

    Thanks,

    PS
