Hi All,
 
I opened General Ledger Entries in excel and use them as Trial Balance with following format of pivot table
 
GL Account, Global dim 1, Global Dim 2, Account name and Total (using filter on date to get the period we wanted)
 
This works fine and data can be refreshed and I can use them as trial balance but wondering is any of you done this and have faced any issue on the same.  Is there any easy way to achieve this same on Finance report within BC so user can use the same as Trial balance, Income statement and balance sheet.

    Please see if you can use the existing layout or new Excel report. They are really good terms create pivot and upload and you can easy anytime

    Hi,
     
    You could create this using either analysis mode on the general ledger entries page or using an analysis view.
     
    I discuss how this can be done in this blog post. (It relates to users moving from dynamics gp to business central but could be of assistance to this query as well)

    P.S you could also set this up using “Financial reports”. Just add the dimensions to the row layout however it would involve adding lots of rows for the different gl code and dimension combinations

    Thank you very much Gavin for your kind reply.  We too wanted the exact format as per your blog post.  I got Debit and Credit and end balance is there any easy way to bring opening balance into this format.  Also I wanted to know is there way to include Account Subcategory into this

    Hi All,
     
    Anyone done the similar Analysis View to bring Opening Balance as well as Account sub category.  When I do Balance sheet account using this report it has the net moment of the month but I wanted to show opening + net moment = closing balance of the month.
