deliver date in po header

Posted on by 165

When i change the deliver date in the purchase order header , the delivery date on the item line is taking into consideration the leadtime of the item. ex.  i have a purchase order which was ordered on the 1st of july. the delivery date was 30th july since the leadtime is 30 days. now it happens that the supplier calls and tell me that there is a delay of two days. so i go to the header and change the date of the delivery to 1st of August. the date on the item will change to 31st of August. is there a way how i can prevent this from happening? apart from modifying the date on the item line.

thanks

RE: deliver date in po header

Do you know, is it possible to do the reverse?

I have a PO with 1 line, and because of the PO lead time, the delivery date on the line is today + 20 (example). but the delivery on the header remains at today.

    Thanks Tyler,

I was able to correct one issue with the update function you suggested concerning the purchase line price update when the vendor changed. It just wasn't the one I was after. The update on Delivery was already set to "always", which is what we want, but it doesn't just copy the date. It calculates the new delivery date on the line based on the entry in the Header plus the leadtime that is associated with the item. That may the difference between Axapta3.0 and 4.0. We use 4.0.

    Thanks for the input.

This function is available in Axapta (Axpata 3.0 we use).

In AP - Setup - Parameters - Updates (tab) - Update order lines (button), here you can define if the related order header information is changed, the order line(s) shall be updated accordingly. You can choose Never, Always, Prompt. Prompt is recommended.

When you update, say the order header's delivery date and save it, there is a Update order lines pop-up window, if you tick Update delivery date, the order hearder's delivery date will be copied to all order lines.

there is no other option except to customise the deliver date in the header to be equivalent to the deliver date in the item lines. hope that this helps.

We have experienced the same issue. It will update the delivery dates on "all" the lines respective to their lead time. The real issue is that on a multiple line PO all lines have to be updated individually. In the case that all the items will be delivered on the same day, there doesn't seem to be a way to update all lines at once.

Got any ideas on how to allow multiple line updates with one delivery date?

    Hi Patrick,

if there is going to be a delay of 2 days, then shouldn't you be extending the date on the header by 2 days??

i.e. change the date on the header to July 3 ... rather then Aug 1.

    hope that helps.

    regards,
