Is it possible to automate collection letters in D365?
Hi Sylvia,
Run recurrence batch to create collection letter.
And there will be a new feature in Oct called Automatic collection task creation: docs.microsoft.com/.../automatic-collection-task-creation
Sylvia, When you say "Automate collection letters", what part of the process do you want to automate? Is it the creation of them, or the review and processing? You can have the collection letter process run automatically in the background/batch on a specific recurrence basis. The Review and posting and sending has to be done as manual process, since you would want the Collection team to review them before they are sent out to customers. This is standard best practice. Let me know if this helps.
Hi Dixon,
Would you please elaborate more, what part of the process "collection letters" you want to automate as there are processes which you can be automated but later parts "posting" and "sending" has to be done manually so you verify those first.
Good morning Sylvia,
The problem with the automation of this process is the date that has to be entered when running this process.
If you setup a batch process then this will work fine the first time but the next time you will run it then it will still run with the old date selection and not give you any additional letters.
What you can do to automate that is using UI Flows in PowerAutomate.
I have illustrated this one here.

Hope this helps.
Best regards,

Hi,
If we are talking about collection letter creation process, date parameter can be left empty and in this case current date will be used in batch processing.
Ludwig, in the automate you have mention , dose this also include sending collection letter emails to customer ?
Yes it does but it is realized with D365FO and the PowerPlatform.
Just see the first part of the video that illustrates how this works.
Ludwig, could this process be done with interest notes , statements? Also, will it include the names of each collector?
You can do the same for interest notes if you wish.
I don't know what you mean by 'name of each collector' though.
If this is an extra field that is not already included in the standard collection letter then add it via the Electronic Reporting business document designer.
So, yes.
You can achieve all of that with configuring D365FO out of the box.
