Fixed asset disposal posting profiles

Hi

First time posting in this forum, but I could not find a solution anywhere.

I am busy setting up the fixed asset posting profiles of a new client. The problem I am having at the moment is with setting up the disposal side.

I can easily set it up with a single gain/loss account, but the problem is that the client uses separate accounts for recording either a Gain on Disposal of Asset or a Loss on Disposal of Asset. I can set the two different accounts up in the disposal function on top, but my main account in posting profiles (Disposal - Sale) before clicking the disposal button on top, cannot split between Gain/Loss.

I am quite new to AX and will be much appreciated if someone can assist me in this matter.

    Hi NYT963,

    It has been a while ago when I had this requirement as well. I even can't recall the customer where I had to do this. What I did that time was just entering per posting type another account in a test environment. Then I studied the outcomes for a disposal with a profit and one with a loss. It appeared to be possible to use a setup which actually worked.

    I think I had a main account on the Disposal - Sale which was used as offset account on all disposal parameters. Or the Post value 'sales value' was the key to split the loss and gain.

    Thank you for the speedy reply. You steered me into the right direction. The solution is in fact splitting it using the Post value 'sales value'. I have got it set up now working as it should.
