How to implement a Newsletter campaign with subscription from external website

Hi everyone, I would like to start a newsletter campaign with Dynamics. I don't understand how to make contacts subscribe from an external website. I create a subscription list and insert it in a subscription form, but this would prevent unknown contacts from subscribing because it works only if Dynamics "knows" the contact (for example sending the link via email).

How can I do if I want to let new contacts register to the newsletter from a form in the website and let them go inside a subscription list? If I create a form with a field "subscribe to newsletter" and then I create customer journey based on that with dynamic segment, if a contact unsubscribes it won't be removed from that campaign, so I need to use subscription lists, but subscription lists are static and don't see new contacts who registered to the newsletter.

Please if someone can provide an example on how to set up a newsletter campaign starting from an external website it would be really useful.

    Hi,

If you have created the field "subscribe to newsletter", you can use the following tool to create a workflow.

    Dynamics-365-Workflow-Tools/Add To Marketing List.md at master · demianrasko/Dynamics-365-Workflow-Tools · GitHub

    Dynamics-365-Workflow-Tools/Remove From Marketing List.md at master · demianrasko/Dynamics-365-Workflow-Tools · GitHub

    1. Import the solution of Dynamics-365-Workflow-Tools.
    2. Create a workflow targeting at the Contact entity and set it started when a record created or updated.

    1. Set the condition as that if the field "subscribe to newsletter" is Yes, add the record into the subscription list, and if it is No, remove the record from the list.

The above steps allow you to add or remove a contact to or from a subscription list dynamically.

Subscription forms only works if linked to an email sent from Dynamics, right? I would not be able to embed a subscription form in an external website without linking the page to an email, right?

    Hi,

Yes, you can find such a statement that “The only way a contact can access a subscription center is by clicking a link sent to them in email.” at the following link.

Set up a subscription center (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Best Regards,

    Nya
