SO Reservation: Registering Sales Order with Insufficient Reservation

Hi,

How could I register Sales Order (SO) when the number of reserved item is insufficient.

AX generates pop up window and forces the number to be reduced so that reservation can be done.
However, the client would like to input full amount first, then workout solutions to meet the delivery criteria.

For your reference, current setup for the reservation is automatic.

    Hi ABTS,

    Standard AX will only warn you that it cannot reserve the full quantity. You can ignore it and fill the ordered quantity even if it is not available.

    DAX will always prompt you the reservation screen if the quantity is less than the available reservation quantity and the Reservation parameter in Accounts receivable is setup as Automatic.

    Changing the Reservation parameter to Manual will not prompt for the reservation screen.

    Even if the setup is Automatic, system reserves the quantity on hand and then remaining can still be packing slip updated provided the physical negative inventory is checked (not recommended).

    How could I then reserve the unreserved quantity, later when there is a fulfillment plan is made?

    Once you have fulfilled the inventory before posting packing slip, you can reserve the item manually from Sales order lines > Maintain > Reservation. A form opens. Select the Warehouse and location in which you want to reserve the inventory and enter the quantity to be reserved.

    Make sure there should be some value in the available for reservation else you wont be able to reserve.
