Adding a document to an ad-hoc work order that will auto generate on printing.

Hi,

Is there a way to attach a document to an ad-hoc work order that will print automatically when the Work Order itself is printed?

The current way is to attach the document using the Document Handling function. The problem is, if no-one looks for an attached document, it will get missed when it's printed out.

Thanks in advance.

Aaron.

Looks like the best way to fix this would be to change to another EAM tool.

I am not sure if Document groups was available in 2009... There is a feature for this in Shop Floor Control in 2012. It is listed in my Time and Attendance blog series/guide.

You can basically attach a document to a work order or item and make it mandatory to read before starting a production order.

That said I would believe you could do something like this in a Power App and hook it up to your existing 2009 installation in the near future once the Power Query feature is up and running. :)

So the best thing is actually to Upgrade. 2009 is "soon" to be EOL.

Thanks Fredrik. I would if I could believe me. Cheers.
