Period cannot be split because it is in use

Hi I am trying to split the period type used for our timesheets, but I am getting the error  'Oeriod cannot be split because it is in use.  I have searched the list of timesheets and there are none covering this period.  How can I find what it is that is 'in use' and hopefully remove it to allow me to split the period for our year end which falls mid week on the 31 March this year.

Many thanks

I have partially resolved this now, by removing the Worker periods linked to the timesheet period, then splitting the period, and then updating the worker periods to match the new split timesheet period.

However when I try to create a timesheet for the first half of the split period, I get an error saying 'time entry period is not within timesheet table period'.  I notice that the 'Work week' shows the full week, which I guess is ok, we are just having 2 timesheets that week.  The timesheet does still show the original full seven days available to be populated, so I'm not sure if that is correct.

can anyone shed any light on where I am going wrong?

    thanks

    Hi AXfinance,

Why don't you simply create a new timesheet period type?

Wouldn't it be easier (and faster) creating a new one from scratch and assigning it to your workers?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi AXFinance,

If you have now two records for one week with a split on the desired day, you should be OK. If you have doubts, please share a screenshot which makes it easier to check what you have now.

AXFinance - have you ever resolve this error "time entry period is not within timesheet table period"?

    Hello AXfinance,

How and where did you try doing that exactly?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

We resolved the "time entry period is not within timesheet table period" error. The problem was we forgot to run "Update timesheet periods" process after completing the week split. Once we ran it, users were able to submit their timesheets.

    AXFinance,

I know this post is dated, but hope you still see this.  Would you mind letting me know how you were able to delete the Worker Period?

    Thanks,
    Mike
