Power BI on Mobile in D365

ReportReport

We added a Power BI dashboard into Dynamics 365 in our Dashboards section. The Power BI report is not showing on the mobile browser version or in the App. Any thoughts? It asks me to Sign in and then takes me to the Power BI page to sign in. When I click Sign In, the page just stays blank. Thanks for any help!

    Hello,

What is in the content of the Power BI dashboard? Are you using any IFRAMES? If you are please note there are some restrictions on how to access content in an IFRAME on a mobile device. You will see the warning here in the purple Note section at the top.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../use-iframe-and-web-resource-controls-on-a-form

If you are not using IFRAMES I'd suggest opening a case with the Dynamics support team working with the Mobile app and we will do what we can to help diagnose this further.

Thank you for the help. We are using the iframe option and if I am reading the Note about this, then we basically cannot expect it to ever work on the mobile? Do you suggest a better way to have Power BI Dashboards in Dynamics 365 on the mobile? Thanks!

    Hi,

You can use the Power BI Mobile App and share this dashboard with users (within Power BI).

However, they should have Power BI License to access it.

Thank you for the answer! We were hoping as we move to Dynamics (we just implemented it a month ago) that we could drive our Sales Team to one App and not have them going to multiple apps. With the Power BI reporting in Dynamics they understand they are seeing high level information but if they want to drill down they have to go to the Power BI app. Seems like the two apps may be the only option on the mobile. Thanks for the help!

    Hello Stephanie,

If you are using iOS. There is a setting on iOS 14 that needs to be updated in order to embed power bi dashboards in mobile.

Interesting, thank you! So we use the browser version on the mobile device at this moment for D365. But I followed the same steps and turned off the Prevent Cross-Site Tracking and now it lets me see the report, but I have to request access each time. Any thoughts on that? Thank you!

    Hello Stephanie,

When you say you have to request access each time. Is that each time you try to view  the report? Or each time you open a new mobile app session?

Also, I just received some news on the Browser part of this issue. Currently the Edge Browser support team is looking into this and hopefully we can get some good news by getting it to work in the browser as well.

    Thanks,

    Tyson

    Hi-

Great news on the browser issue! Thanks!

When I go in to look at the Dashboard in Dynamics, it gives me the Power BI sign-in screen and so I click Sign-In.

It then pops up a screen like it is going into the browser version of Power BI but goes back to Dynamics.

It then gives me a pop-up that the Session expired and I must close and re-open my browser.

I then click Close and then it gives me the Request Access screen and so I click that. (all of this is still within Sales Hub)

When I click that it then opens up Power BI to that specific report.

Let me know if you have any thoughts. Thanks for the help!
