Hi guys,

How to create a hyperlink or drill through in a D365 F&O report ? So lets say I create a Sales Order List report, and have 1 column for CustAccount. In the report I want to have hyperlink on each of CustAccount and we can click to open Customer detail.

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi WWwong,

    You can have a look at the next blog post for some help: community.dynamics.com/.../dynamics-365-for-operations-generatedrillthroughlink-drillthroughprovider-hyperlink-on-ssrs-report-data-fields

    Hi Andre,

    Yes, actually I did that. In my issue, my report is for Cases, so in PrecisionDesign, in field CaseId, property Action, I add this :

    =Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Reports.BuiltInMethods.GenerateDrillThroughLink(Parameters!AX_ReportContext.Value, Parameters!AX_UserContext.Value, "CaseDetail","Display","CaseDetailBase", "CaseId",fields!CaseId.Value)

    (it all a standard naming, so I guess it is cleared)

    Go to my class report controller to change the parameters report to use "PrecisionDesign1" (as in my precision design's name)

    Build my project, Deploy report.

    It still no link in my Case Id column. Something I missed ?

    Thanks,

    Hi Blue,

    Thanks for your suggestion, however if it is ok, I want to know what is wrong with the 1st one, instead "jumping" into another way which may cause other issues. I understand there are many ways, but for learner can be more confusing as in where to follow.

    Btw, in that link, as I check there it is no DrillThroughProvider class as she mentioned and it does look that the class is meant for specific data only for example is customer. And in the end, it's like we need to install something, which is a 3rd party add-on.

    So, back to the 1st solution, do you know what is wrong ? because it seems everyone using it, but I think there is something missing. In the link that Andre provided, there is also one comment from a guy saying it is not working... but it is the standard way from Microsoft, right ?

    Appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    Hi WWwong,

    Yes, and I did it, and it was successful.

    Was the deploy report successful? You should pay attention to the information in the output window.

    Btw, I found this link :

    sukrut-axapta.blogspot.com/.../generate-drill-through-linkhyperlinks.html

    and it is mentioned some addition step :

    Also, you must add this method to the form that the menu item opens (the error message doesn’t tell you this):

    public boolean isRootNavigable()

    {

    boolean ret;

    ret = true;

    }

    However, "form that the menu item opens", what form, my report is run from a menu item, not a form.

    Thanks,

    HI Wwwong,

    What object does your display menu item point to? Not a form?

    Hi Blue,

    When you ask me this, finally found the culprit. And yes, my menu item is calling the report, not a form.

    and the culprit is because in that MenuItem the report design property still pointed to "AutoDesign" instead.

    So I changed it to "PrecisionDesign1" and it RAN. One thing is why there is no "line" below, but the pointer turned to "hand" and I can click to open the designated menu item on the link.

    I'm still curios with what Sukrut mentioned in his blog, though.

    Anyway thanks for the help.

    regards,

    HI Wwwong,

    The reporting services not display the underlined and blue color hyperlinks.

    It ’s just not displayed, but it works, as you said, moving the mouse becomes a hand.
