Hi Guys

I am having a issue where the stock adjustment is not pulling through the average cost of the item when i create the journal

Why would that happen ?

Hi Martin, could you explain the problem in more detail? Not sure what the actual problem is

    Hi Martin,

What is the Inventory model on the Item group of that Item set to?

In the case of a positive adjustment, AX cannot really know the cost of the items you have 'found'. You can enter it manually yourself (but since when did the warehouse guys worry about that ;-) ).

Or, if you have a Active Item Price (Inventory module -> Setup -> Costing version -> Price -> Item price), AX will put this on the journal line (and allow you to change it).

Or, if you have a Cost price set (Released product details -> 'Manage costs' fast tab -> Price) it will use that (and allow you to change it). If you have 'Latest cost price' ticked, AX will update this 'Price' (on the Released product) at specific times.

    Hi Guy

Thank you so much it makes sense what you are saying,

They are using the FIFO method , so what i would like to know is what happens them of they write the item off? Should i not then be able to see the cost BEFORE i post the journal?

    Regards

    Martin

Well, it doesn't calculate the cost of a negative line when you create the journal line; it calculates it when you post the journal. If you have 'Latest cost price' ticked on the item (and therefore a cost price on the item), it will put a cost on the journal line (which will give you some idea), but it isn't necessarily the cost that will actually get used.

    Thank Guy

I have kind of sorted out the prevouis problem, As soon as you invoice the purchase order , the latest price pulls through it doesnt pull through in the received stage

I do have a similiar issue though with another journal ( Item Journal for project)

I am issuing these 2 items out both have the last purchase and cost price active but only the 1 is pulling through the average cost

Thank you again for your help
