I'm setting up Sharepoint integration and would like the folder structure to use the entity Display name rather than the entity name. So for example use Projects not msdyn_project (as this is not very nice when building out our organisation folder structure).
Is there a straight forward way of doing this? It doesn't seem right that people would navigate through a msdyn_project folder as to the untrained eye no one will know what it is.
Thanks
Hi partner,
Using the entity display name may not be a good solution because the display name can be repeated.
For example, you can create two entities with one display name of Projects. If you use the display name as the sharepoint folder name, they will be repeated in the sharepoint.
To avoid this, we default to using the entity name as the sharepoint folder name.
Hello
Thanks for reaching out to dynamics community forum.
As per the ask, this is product limitations "Server-based SharePoint integration uses the entity display name to build the SharePoint library."
I would encourage you to provide feedback to the Dynamics 365 Product Groups for this feature (Changing Display name to Entity Name for folder location) . You can do this through the Dynamics 365 Ideas Forum experience.dynamics.com/ideas . This forum allows you to provide suggestions for new features, ideas for improvements on current features, as well as general feedback, and then receive a response from the product group. It’s great to vote for ideas that you’d like to see implemented or come up with your own.

Due to limitations you cannot achieve above requirement. Server-based SharePoint integration uses the entity display name to build the SharePoint library
Please share an Idea to Microsoft site.
Thanks for the feedback. That's disappointing there's not a fix right now but will see if we can get it fixed.
Just to add.. How do others deal with this?
I'd really like to roll out Sharepoint integration and have the Sharepoint folders syncing to users computers. It'll be a very nice integration but having our Projects folder showing up as a folder called 'msdyn_project' is messy. Also, if a user does change the folder name then the Dynamics integration breaks. Is there a smarter way of doing this?
Presumably the ultimate is to use Dynamics and Sharepoint desktop folder syncing alongside one another.
Any ideas would be great.
