Fixed net prices for customers

Posted on by 94
Hello everybody,

I am curiouse if there is a possibility in AX 2012 R3 to setup fixed net prices for a customers. It should be a net price, that is not affected by a possible discount for the same customer and same item. But the system should recognize which of these prices is the best price, the discounted one or the net price and then put it on the sales order (Find next?).
Currently we are working with disocunts on item groups, then prices groups with affiliations and one /base price/ list on the customer account. We want to calculate the discount only on the /base price list/ and not on the other price groups, that are connected via Affiliations.

Is there any possibility in AX, we couldn't find anything. And

    Hello Kevin,

    thank you for your response.

    I have a few questions:

    • How do I ensure, that the base price list is the primary source for discount calculation.
      • The base price list is created as a trade agreement in the price groups in retail module. The discounts are created in the sales and marketing module in "Price/discount\Item discounts groups" The discount groups are assignet to the particular item in "Released products" and in the trade agreement for the item discount groups there are lines for each customer, that is assigned to that discount group. The "net prices" are created in "Retail\Price and discounts\Price groups". They also all have a priority "4" and are assignet to the customer account via Affiliations. - So I don't know how or where to ensure, that the discounts should only apply on the base price and not on the net price lists, as far as I know, the functionality in AX first searches for the best price (so it compares the base price with the net price lists) and then when it finds the best price the discounts are calculated from that particular price.
    • Where can I find this Price hierarchy ? If you are referring to the Priorities, they are already set, that the priority for net prices is higher, so it should chose the net prices, when found.
    thank you

    Hi,
The standard pricing functionality doesn't inherently support the concept of fixed net prices that are immune to customer-specific discounts. However, you can achieve a similar result by configuring the system appropriately. Here's a suggested approach:
    Base Price List:
    • Maintain a base price list on the customer account, as you are currently doing.
    • Ensure that this base price list is the primary source for pricing calculations.
    Discounts on Item Groups:
    • Continue applying discounts on item groups.
    • However, when defining discounts, set the scope to exclude the base price list. This ensures that discounts are only calculated based on the base price.
    Pricing Hierarchy:
    • AX follows a hierarchy when determining prices. You can configure this hierarchy in the Price/Discount setup.
    • Place the base price list at the top of the hierarchy to prioritize it over other pricing elements.
    Best regards,
    Kevin

    Hi Mario,

This is a great question. The prices and discounts don't have a relation, so the discount will always be calculated. You can consider a customization to achieve this requirement.
