    Dhiraj,

Are you trying to install DAX 4.0 server on XP SP2 or just the client part? Officially DAX server can be installed on a server OS only - you need Windows 2003. DAX enthusiasts have successfully installed teh server part on Win XP (not sure about the SP number) and I will try to find the walk-through document on the proper procedure. But you really should use 2003 for DAX server. If you can't install 2003 on the laptop, run DAX on a virtual machine with Win 2003.

    Hi Dhiraj,

Please check whether your laptop is in domain or not. If yes then check are you in DAX server's domain? If yes then chek the user previledge in the AX server at Log on User. I think you are not in correct domain or not in domain... anyways I am stating you the process, pls check it out....

DAX 4.0 has two portions. In XP u can only install client part of DAX but also your XP must be in same domain where the DAX server is installed & also your windows log on user name must be registered with DAX 4.0 as an user. If these are Ok then you can log-in DAX 4.0 as a client Mode.

If you install stand alone DAX 4.0 in ur Laptop then you have to maintain following processes...

    1. Install windows 2003 server edition

    2. Create domain (with the help of Network Adaptar or self Loop back adaptar)

(Note: while it taking restart then it will take much more time to log-in, don't worry in affected for domain :), let it be continuing)

    3. Install SQL server 2005 or 2005 with SP 2.0 / 2008

    4. Now install Database, AOS, Application Server and Client.( Installation and Configuration for Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 - Material:  https://mbs.microsoft.com/partnersource/communities/training/trainingmaterials/student/course8626.htm?printpage=false [partner source access required] )

    5. After installaling dont start AX service, now run AX SP 2 files and install to all.

    6. After installing Sp2, copy all the files of IndLocalisation into DAX Application folder.

    7. Now create Server Utility & Client utility configuration

    8. Open Event Viewer window for update by clicking "Refresh" button.

    9. After starting service, open ax client and follow up the installation check list which will appear left side of DAX screen.

    :)

     Hi Kiran,

during step No. 4, have you select Country India from the Country List? If no then you have install again application server with a specific country which will be appeared during the installation of application server.

If u installed application Server with IndLocalisation then you dont need to worry. After completting all DAX installing then run the SP2 standard, after this extract the IndLocalisations Files and Copy & paste  those files into your application folder. Then you will start the AX Service. It will take a long to start this service. You can find out the events those are running in backgorund in Event Viewer Window. Open it and click Refresh button for update... Almost it will take to start service around 40 mins....
