Planning Worksheet

I’m running the planning worksheet for an item.
This item has skus in location 10 and 12. item sku in Location 10 is set-up as the make location. item sku in Location 12 is setup with replenishment type “Transfer” from location 10. Now when I use a forecast that has demand only for location 12 and run MRP/MPS for this item. The planning worksheet shows the lines for creating the production orders in location 10 but it doesn't show a line to transfer any of the quantity to location 12. It likes the system realizes I need to make the items based on the forecast but the system ignores that these items need to be transferred to a new location.

Thanks for the response Craig. I understand what you are saying. I was hoping the Forecast would act as the demand for that location but like you said it appears the system doesn't work that way.

    RE: Planning Worksheet

I think the reason it is not creating the transfer lines is because there is not a real demand for those items in location 12.

The intention of the production forecast is to create a demand for the finished goods so that MRP can determine the raw material requirements n advance and not only when the actual demand arises.  However the replenishment for location 12 is based on the planning parameters for that SKU.

I would expect that as soon as there is a real demand in location 12, then it would suggest the transfer.

Hope this helps - I see you posted it a while ago so it may be too late :)
