Dynamics GP 2018 Updgrade

All - 

I'm upgrading to GP 2018 so that I can finally take that last jump to become totally current.  The problem I have....we are at 2015 R2 (14.0.1230) and I'm going to go to 2018 (RTM or as far as I can). 

I've read that i can go from 14.x to 18.00, but when I log in to GP utilities, I get the pop up that says "There was a problem ascertaining product version information.  Microsoft Dynamics GP Utilities will now exit.  Please check the duninstall.log file for more information."

The entry in that log is "Failure encountered ON 10/24/2022 at 1:29:20 PM.  Error:  Product 0 does not support upgrading from version 14.0.1230."

What am I missing?  I remember running into this many years ago and do not recollect how I resolved it.

    When you say you are upgrading to GP 2018 do you mean 18.x? If so, what it the final version of GP you want to be running?

    End result would be the 18.4+, but I think I need to start with 2018, correct?

    In order to go to GP 18.5 you must be on GP 2016.00.0814 or later

    Earlier versions of GP 18.x required 16.00.0716 or later

    You cannot go directly to GP.x from 14.00.1230

    You can go directly to GP 18.4. No need for GP 2018.

    Okay....so it looks like my next hop is 2016. Then to 18.4.  Either way it looks like a 2-hop process.

    Is there a version to go to from 2015 R2?

    I knew it was too good to be true.

    For GP it has always been two versions at a time.

    Always do a sarch on upgrade paths.
