Forms issue in Code Migration from AX 2012 to Dynamics 365

Posted on by 70

Hi,

This is to ask that on code migration from ax 2012 to Dynamics 365 , we ran into a problem that in upgraded code of Dynamics 365 many of the custom made forms have their elements missed as that were in  ax 2012 and now not present in D365 Form design.

What we have  Identify till now is that in ax 2012 the forms were on ISV model and its Design and elements are on custom model that is on "UER" . So it has missed those elements in forms that were on UER Model.

Currently we resolve conflicts by manually adding the missing elements in form but its time consuming and having a high chance of human error. So I need to know is there an any better approach to overcome this problem and are there any other causes due to which elements got missed in new forms ?

You would need to contact the ISV to get the ISV customization to be available on D365 FO too. Ideally, the ISV already have their customization. Do you mean the custom model on "USR" layer? This probably something that the ISV customized specifically for you and usr layer will be upgraded together into one layer after the code analysis.

    Hi

before running the code upgrade for your AX 2012 code base, was ISV installed in the D365 instance already? I believe it could be one of the reasons.

secondly, as you have fixed all the issues in D365 instance (target version). you can check-in the fixed code to DevOps and use that branch as source for all the other instance.

    Thank you
