What is dimension in ax 2012?

Hi All,

May I know what is dimension for AX? I try search in Google about this, it return Financial Dimension, Product Dimension... But I really not understand about what is dimension. Any simple explanation and usage about it?

    Dimension is quite a generic term and - as you already found - can be used in various contexts. So there is no single definition of "dimension in AX" - there are different types of dimensions with different use and meaning.

    What financial and product dimensions have in common is that they provide some additional information and categorization (for different entities and transactions).

    You would also find dimensions in OLAP, for example.
