Developer VM and windows defender

Hi experts.

I have a dev VM could hosted created through LCS. I want to improve the VM performance by configure the windows defender to exclude AOS files from scanning .

I've used https://github.com/d365collaborative/d365fo.tools/blob/development/d365fo.tools/functions/add-d365windowsdefenderrules.ps1

to add the exclusion list but nothing happens, I don't see the list updated and also I can't change the settings.

How can I configure the windows defender to exclude some files since I can't change the configuration.

Personally , I haven't tried what you are trying to do to speed up machine .

Have you tried options listed by Nikoloas in his article ?
