How to get web services to return the entire data struct rather than a minified version?

Posted on by 10
Hi,

If I look at the Items table in D365 BC there is approximately 250+ columns. If I look at the excel connector for the Items table there is approx. 114 columns. If I look at the web service for the Item table there are 56 fields. Is there a way natively (without rebuilding the API) to get the Web Service to return all the columns or even additional ones?

I've checked that the web service is pulling from the same table ID as the page is.

Thanks for the help!

    Hi Yun and Valentine,

Thanks for the replies. No idea how to reply directly to each of you. No options for me to do that anyway!

That makes sense now and appreciate the help

    Thanks,

Whether it is a Web Service or APIs, you access pages, not tables.
So if you need to add fields from a table to a page, this requires customization. And as of now, standard APIs are not extensible.

    Thanks.

Web services will have all the fields on a page, so you will need to add the missing fields to the page.
