New with Dynamics Nav 2013

Hello. I am a Microsoft Vb.Net/C#, ASP.NEt developer with SQL Server backend and have been developing in these software technologies for over 20 years.  I recently came accross Microsoft Dynamics Nav as my future employer had purchased this and wanted me to learn how to customize this ERP solution.  Can anyone suggest how i would go about learning the ins and outs of Microsoft Dynamics Nav 2013 and how to customize this?  Do i have to be certified?  Any help from you would be highly appreciated!
