Safepay security access

Posted on by 20

I am trying to grant access to one individual for Smart Pay.  I went to Security Tasks and granted her Task ID access to all the Safe Pay / Financial / Files and all the Safe Pay / Financial / Reports  However when she tries to access Safe Pay [Tools/Routines/Financial], that option is not available.  I did the same thing for another individual and she can access Safe Pay.  The underlying roles in the individuals is that one can print checks (the one whose access worked) and the other cannot.  I guess my question is, should that matter and if so, what other windows need to be available before Safe Pay is available?

I am embarrassed to say I have apparently not installed Safe Pay on her machine.  She can log into it on my machine.  I forgot it was a separate install.  Thanks Derek!

So is it more of an issue with permissions, or the user just doesn't see the menu options for Safe Pay?

If menu options, has the user logged completely out of Dynamics GP and then back in after you gave access?

    Thanks

    Hi Derrick

Yes, her security task already has those 7 windows selected.  I think I didn't describe that accurately in my original post.

The Tools > Financial > Routines > Safe Pay, has five different windows under it:

    --Safe Pay Configurator

    --Safe Pay Bank Link Maintenance

--Safe Pay - Upload History Summary

    --Upload Transactions History

    --Safe Pay - Transactions Upload

From what I can find, while I can see the Safe Pay Configurator window, for example, when I populate the SY09400 table, using that information for the SY10700 table, there doesn't seem to be any default security tasks that give access to these Safe Pay windows, by default.

If I go into the Security Task Setup window, select a task, and then select 'Safe Pay' for the product, 'Windows' for the Type, '3rd Party' for the Series, then I see 7 windows listed and two others.

If you create a custom security task named something like Safe Pay and assign these windows to that task, then assign the task to a (recommended) custom security role as well, and assign it to the user, have them log out and back into Dynamics GP and that should give them access.

I'll keep looking and update this forum if I find any additional information.

    Thank you,

I meant Safe Pay in my first sentence.
