Hi Guys,

i have recently change our POS hardware to Toshiba TCX Wave that come with a USB line display. i am able to use toshiba OPOS configuration to test all the devices (Printer, Drawer and Line display) with no issue.

but now the issue is when i launch retail POS, the pos is saying it's unable to find a line display. i check the event viewer and the error details is as below:

Microsoft.Dynamics.Retail.Pos.Services.Peripherals: System.NotSupportedException: Peripheral [LineDisplay] - Character set '850' is not supported by device.
at Microsoft.Dynamics.Retail.Pos.Services.LineDisplay.Load()

i have try to change the character set to 932....998...but the line display still not working..

how can i make it work? :(

    Hi,

Did you use Toshiba POS Driver configuration on windows to test the devices?

Is it Plug and play devices ?

yup...already configure in toshiba OPOS configuration utility as the line display is showing ANOP Display A - USB and device name is also configured as per what AX hardware profile showing.

the line display is using USB connection and i can test it under OPOS utility tool...

so, you can test the same with IBM Line display, I got this problem before cause by OPOS windows driver, check it work with windows first, then AX.

yes..i am able to use toshiba OPOS configuration utility to let it display some numbers on the line display..but when launch AX POS...it say cannot find line display.

when dig down deeper to event log...it say Microsoft.Dynamics.Retail.Pos.Services.Peripherals: System.NotSupportedException: Peripheral [LineDisplay] - Character set '850' is not supported by device.

and i have try many other character set..and i always end up getting the same error message except the character set is reflecting the value i set at hardware profile..

then you need to check registry follow this post blogs.technet.microsoft.com/.../steps-to-install-opos-drivers

and make sure that the names of devices match those you have configured in the hardware profile.

finally, i found a way to make it work. the trick is to install toshiba virtual com port and assign a com port number to this line display..and re-configure the line display with Toshiba OPOS utility.

i almost drop my tears when i see the word 'Till is closed' displaying on the LD when the POS program launch..

    HI Dokidoki

I have the same issue right now. But when i have installed the Virtual serial driver and add a comport to the LineDisplay it still dosent work. I guess im doing something wrong.

I have the same Line Display popping up "ANOP Display A - USB. I have named it exactly the same as in the hardware profile in AX.

Can you explain the steps you are doing?

    Thank You

    Mathias
