Hi Expert,

Is there any process where we can get more then one finished goods by using the discrete manufacturing process in d365 FO. i know that we can get it from process manufacturing but we want it from discrete process.

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

As far as I know only formulas (part of process manufacturing) will allow you to define co-products and therefore report multiple SKUs as finished.

    Hi

its simple - you can use minus pick list.

But you have problem with cost then   ;-(

But if you use standard cost it is possible     ;-)

    Best regars

Pardon the likely dumb question here, but, how in the heck can you end up with 2 finished items in a discrete manufacturing process??  If the FG for a given PO is a "fan" (for instance), how do you end up with a "fan" and a "bottle" (to randomly pick something as an example)?  I successfully implemented manufacturing ERP for 11 different discrete mfg. organizations and have never heard that so I'm intensely curious.

    Hello Lorne

you have no problem like cutting squares and circles from a sheet of metal?? You need square like 1 subassembly nad circle for other FG.

You implementation must be very simple  (I like simple implementation) .

    Best regards

    TomS

A subassembly is, by definition, NOT an FG though.  I'm totally OK with multiple subs coming from a PO.  But have never seen 2 FG's.  I've worked with machine shops, an engine re-man, a fireplace insert mfg, aerospace, a heavy equipment attachments and truck mounted cranes maker, and more and this is a first.

If you want to get different shapes of something (let's say steel) such as circles and squares, then you would them up as each being a sub. Although that is a rare occurrence since most of the time that means tooling change and/or new CNC file or both. In which case they should be separate BoM's, with separate routes to capture tooling and/or programming (CNC) changeovers.

Nop, you will need  different production orders ( for different product numbers ) that consume a specific quantity of the same component

    I have a similar problem.

In our context we manufacture in 2 steps, a batch of finished goods that is QC-ed and assigned a lot #.  That 'batch' may be consumed by multiple finished goods in the form of different package types.  Each package type has its own item number.  There are many different reasons for this, most are customer driven.

It would be helpful to output 2 or more finished goods in a single production order that consumes the afore mentioned batch.
