Custom Connectors

Is there any tutorials or guides on how to properly build a custom connector when provided an Api from a third party?

My goal is to create a shipment manager application in Dynamics for my Parts Sales team. After the Parts Business Process Flow is completed in the Sales app, I want the product information to be sent over to the shipment manager app so the sales guys can easily have a handle on where in transit our UPS shipments are when customers ask for them, instead of having to toggle between the UPS site and Dynamics, everything will be in one easy place since there’s so many packages going out per day. The end goal for this project is to house all shipment information by part within our account entities in Dynamics. Want to see what parts a custom ordered recently? Check the orders sub grid within the account. You ordered x part y days ago? Here’s a reminder for the sales rep to reach out and inquire if the customer needs a replacement. I know UPS provides API Keys, so I was hoping for some guidance on how to attack this project.

Thank you
