Cannot change storage dimension group for item

(0) ShareShare

When i was trying to change the storage dimension group for a specific item, I got the error message "The new dimension group cannot be assigned. Physical inventory transactions might exist and/or financial inventory transactions are not fully settled, while 'Activate closing of non-financial transfers' is set to Yes."

i check the system, and i can confirm that all the purchase order related to this item are invoiced, and all the production order related to this item are ended. on-hand inventory is zero.

item on-hand inventory in warehouse SHP001 as below:

item on-hand inventory in warehouse W01 as below:

the financial cost amount in one is -45, and another is +45, this probably the root cause that i cannot change the storage dimension group for the item. but i have not idea how to settle these two amount into zero.

    Hi Jianrui,

Please check if you have run the inventory closing. This will settle the costs.

    Hi Andre

the inventory model in the item model group is configured as "FIFO". and the close job finished with some warning information, but none of them are related to the item that we are talking about.

Can you tell me that how the "Financial cost amount" is calculated?

    many thanks.

    Hi Jianrui,

It is all explained in a Costing whitepaper. It is written for AX2009, but in your scenario also applicable for AX 2012.
