We have seen this with new updates of GP but also updates of other items during the process such as Adobe.
Also, we have noted that if the SELECT AN ATTACHMENT window has the preview mode turned off the PDF successfully attaches to the Document Attachment Management window without any issues.
Some file types do work, I did not have adobe installed on my machine, so I tested a txt file, that attached fine when it is open
Then I took a pdf and opened it with word pad, that too will attach fine.
Last I installed Adobe and then tried to attach with it open and then you get the message.
This is probably something that changed there and not necessary a GP type of issue as we do allow attaching items when they are open, just not when you have them open in adobe.
You can press OK past it and it will attach or attach when docs are not open. Change in user process, see this forum post.
