Are you able to connect using this URL: <IPAddress>:8080/DynamicsNAV71/WebClient
Note: depending on what version of NAV you are on, will determine what number to use for "DynamicsNAV71" my server uses DynamicsNAV70
I have applied roll-up upgrade 3 on my installation and got the error that client and server version mismatched. Find attached screenshot for more detail. If possible
please guide me step-by-step for applying this upgrade.
Please share the screenshot to clear the same.
I am able to log in with AD accounts. After successful logged-in, the user display name is always 'NAVADMIN' though i logged-in with any other AD account, display name is always 'NAVADMIN'
You mean to say, it's being logged with 'NAVADMIN' instead of AD account.
Thanks for help. Now my client is accessable through http://hostname:port_no.
To do this, i have two options: either
--> disabled ASP.Net impersonation in IIS;
OR
--> In IIS -> DynamicsNAV (website) -> Physical Path Credentials setting.
supply 'Path credentials for Specific User' (domain user in my case)
From both above, WHICH IS BEST RECOMMENDED ???
and whenever i logged in through any of Active Directory accounts, i always got 'NAVADMIN' (my domain username) name as logged in user, Why so????

The IIS is a multi web site server. The way is distinct the site is by the host header name. So you need to setup that on your web site.
Here is the steps that you need to follow:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308163 - How To Use Host Header Names to Configure Multiple Web Sites
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/190008 - How to Use Host Header Names to Host Multiple Sites </a>
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/WindowsServer2003/Library/IIS/883a9544-3f70-4d46-a6df-bbadbd1fe7de.mspx?mfr=true - Host Header Names to Host Multiple Web Sites</a>
In general, open your web site properties, locate the Ip Address and near its there is the advanced, "multiple identities for this web site". There you need ether to add all income to this site with a star: "*", ether place the names you like to work with.
