Detailed TB for a specific account; 20493000 vs. 20493123

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Good afternoon everyone,

The numbers are just example numbers to illustrate my point.

I have a specific cash account I'm trying to run a detailed trial balance for and it's number is 20493123.  However the only account I can run a detailed trial balance for is 20493000, which combines all cash accounts.

This isn't helpful as I'm trying to prepare a bank reconciliation and I need the activity for one account at a time.

Does anybody know how I can achieve this?

Let me know if you have any questions,

Thank you,

Hello Alexander.  Thanks for the tip.  However I've tried to look at the Analysis by Dimension report and have not been able to run something like this:

    11/1/17 balance of 20493123

detailed line items of activity between 11/1/17 and 11/28/17 (20493123)

    11/28/17 ending balance of 20493123

This is what my detailed trial balance did but it was only with the 20493000 total.  Would you be able to explain how to achieve the same information with the 20493123?

    Thank you for your help!

As Robertas Rackauskas questioned, in a standard setup, where 20493123 will be a real separate account, you could have just selected this account in a filter.

The fact that you ask such question makes me think that you have a different setup, where e.g. 20493123 is not a separate account in the chart but rather a value of additional dimension which you select when doing the posting in addition to the posting account 20493000. If so, you can use Analysis by Dimension report.

    Hi,

Detailed Trial Balance is a standard NAV report, meaning it accepts standard filters. One of those filters can be the Account No. Why can't you put the filter for account 20493123, instead of 20493000? Unless you are not using the standard Detailed Trial Balance report, in which case the question is what are you using for Detailed TB?
