By the version number it looks like it is an AX 2012 RTM version with CU5 applied. The kernel version is higher than the one which comes with CU7. It must have been installed from a binary hotfix that you need to find on your servers where you store your installation media.

Or you could just simply apply the latest available kernel for your major version on all AX AOS and client instances (after testing your business processes), which has build number 6.0.1108.8757 as of now:

If I upgrade my Dev server to the latest version but the kernel of my Live Version is below the Dev Server. Did my Dev Server could access the Live Server database ?

It could, but you should not do that since it will cause problems/unexpected behavior. The communication protocol changes between versions, so AX and Client kernel version must match. If you connect to an AX AOS instance with a different kernel version, you will see a warning recorded in the Event log > Application for that event.

    Hi Vilmos,

Thanks for the advise, but i think i'm stick with my existing kernel version rather than update to the latest kernel version.

    Thanks

    Hi,

All hotfixes that are installed on the Live AOS should appear in Windows Add/Remove programs, or whatever it's called in the version of Windows Server that you are running (well, maybe not all, but hotfixes that affect the kernel will). You need to set Add/Remove programs to 'Show installed updates', or equivalent.

It might list the build you are looking for as the Version number here. If not, you can request each hotfix (that you have installed) from LifeCycle Services. In the email that gets sent to you (for each hotfix) you can see the Build number in the hotfix URL.

Using this method, it should be possible to find the hotfix that was responsible for putting the Kernel to .7743, and then install it on your dev box.
